UDK

I have now reached the process of texturing everything.

I have also imported into IDK and set up some basic lighting.

I apologise again for not having posted the steps I have gone through. I will upload them at a later date as I have to back into older files to get the screen shots.

Everything Built

I have finished building the environment. I apologise for not posting the steps I went through. I will post them up at a later date.

For now I have for you four quick videos to show what it looks like.


Main Ceiling

I've bee trying to get the position of the main ceiling right, but it's quite frustrating. In the show the ceiling seems to move up and down. An example would be the following images. 

In this shot the ceiling is high.

In these shots it's really low.

I think I will do work on another part of the environment for now, because this is just annoying me right now.

Ripple effect

I figured out how to get the ripples working properly for when the puddle jumper will go through it. I used a Flex modifier on a mesh because reactor is no longer a part of 3ds max, and the MassFX modifier does not do fluid dynamics. I still need to work on it some more.


Research for the kawoosh

I've been trying to figure out how to do this effect using particles for a while now, and I still can't figure it out.
I've posted my problem on the 3dmd.net and cgsociety forums to see if anyone can help me with it.
I've also messaged Florian Zender, the lead effects artist at Yager, (creators of Spec Ops - The Line.
Hopefully someone gets back to me soon.

The Control Room

The Environment that I am making is the control room out of Stargate Atlantis. So far it has proven to be a challenge. The only references I've had to work from are screenshots from the TV show.
also while I was getting screen shots of the show I managed to find a shot showing the back of the Stargate, which I've been having trouble doing. I'll edit the gate once I've finished building the environment.

Messing About with Lighting

I was messing about with some lighting to see what the 'kawoosh' might look like inside the environment. I blocked out the shape of the room, to see what sort of shadows would be cast. It still needs some work.
